Nuclear Bunker in Yugoslavia

This nuclear bunker was named after Marshall Tito and was built in the mid 70’s in Yugoslavia. For many years this bunker was classified but eventually, in year 1992, it was revealed to the public. The total area of the bunker is about 70,000 square feet. There are more than 100 bedrooms as well as offices and conference rooms.

The Russian Hummer – BRDM2 on Streets of Ukraine

Some guy in Ukraine bought himself this BRDM-2 for “hunting” as he says. What’s a BRDM-2? It is an amphibious armored vehicle used by Russia and former Soviet Union which was a replacement for the previous BRDM-1 armored vehicle model.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R – For Real

Russia’s fascination with cosplaying characters from bleak shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. shows no signs of easing up, with a fresh batch showcasing an improvement in photography skills from the plucky fans.

These shots are from a little trip to the wilderness near Vyborg, Russia, which took place last month. You can’t see it, but we’re on our feet applauding the dedication. About 80 pictures after the break.

Around 200 fans showed up. The equipment wasn’t that hard to find since we’re in Russia, just grab your gas mask and anti-rad suit from the closet and you’re ready to go. The players were using air-soft guns in battles. The whole adventure was planned to last 3 days.

Don-2N Anti-Ballistic Missile and Space Vehicle Tracking Radar

Designed to detect, track and measure the co-ordinates of ballistic missiles and space vehicles, the Don-2N pulse radar comprises four, fixed, 16 m diameter, phased-array antennas, a digital signal processing subsystem and a `high-capacity, multiprocessor’ system control computer system that is based on the Elbrus-2 equipment. Functionally, the radar automatically detects targets, measures their co-ordinates, determines their trajectories and discriminates re-entry vehicles from decoys in real time. The equipment’s system control computer is described as being able to execute up to 1 billion operations per second and countermeasures proofing is provided via frequency agility and adaptive control of the phased-array antennas.

Unique opportunities of “DON – 2N” were evidently shown to results of work in the international experiment with detection of the small space objects, spent under program “ODERAX” during which with US Shuttle in a free space microsatellites – metal spheres in diameter of 5,10 and 15 centimeters were thrown out. “DON – 2N” – unique from everything involved in the world of radar-tracking means, could find out and construct a trajectory of the smallest space object – ball in diameter of 2 inches (5 sm).

These are the old tanks that have been disposed after usage. Some of them are practically new and have about 100k on them but due to risks of malfunction on the field they must be disposed after a certain time period. Almost all of the tanks get to the graveyard by them selves.

GAZ MM 1942 Reconstructed

This all started two years ago when the reconstruction team “Red Viburnum” from Poland found an old chassis from a GAZ MM 1942 in the junkyard. They decided that it would be a good idea to reconstruct the truck but sadly they were missing most of the original parts. After some searching, they found an old engine and a few other parts in old tractors and other vehicles since the people were disassembling the broken cars and using the parts from them in their own vehicles after the war ended. In the end, this car was reconstructed mostly with it’s original parts but some had to be made manually.
