Cars all over the world improved a lot in the past 30 years but did Russia follow that example?

Not really…

Although the image is a bit outdated and the Russian car industry actually did improve and is now heading towards a recovery. In march 2007 for example, Lada unveiled the Priora. It’s not the best looking car in the world but it is still a major improvement from what we had before.

In the end of the year 2004 Lada started producing the Kalina which improved a lot since that date.

A lot of refurbished Chrysler Sebrings were also resold in Russia under the name “Volga Siber”.

And don’t forget the new Russian supercar, Marussia B2 which is also a prototype for now.

The red car in the beginning of the post is actually a modified GAZ Pobeda, not a production car.
